Dance - Rising Star Ishimwa Introduces 'Lets Walk'

A man of few words, but a lot of passion, we caught up with young dance choreographer Ishimwa for a quick catch up on his upcoming performance. Tickets are avaliable now!

You are?

My name is Ishimwa and I am a lover of life, a funny, creative, people loving kinda guy.

So you are creative, what do you create?

I bring my ideas to fruition using different mediums such as fashion, film or text, I primarily work with movement/dance but not exclusively.

Any current projects?

Yes, yes. I am working on a piece called "Let's Walk" it's a funny piece with a deep message behind it. It tells a number of stories through the medium of dance, breathing and movement as well.

Where can we see it?

Sure, it takes place on the 15th January 2014 at The Robin Howard Dance Theatre. All details on my website on the events page you'll also find a direct link to where you purchase tickets.

Trust me, it will be worth every penny.

What made you want to be a choreographer/director?

Well, I've always had a yearning for creating something with people. I'm not particularly interested in "dancers" I'm interested in people, their realities and authenticity. So I mostly enjoy working with people, for me it's the journey that matters, not the destination, although it is satisfying to see the finished product.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself as a positive creative artist. I want to make art that makes people smile, art that brings you tears of joy, work that asks the big questions and yet still grips you with excitement.
